Disillusionment

The mountains pass along the road

The feelings still inside me

Arid land and ascending hills

Oh, this will be my one swansong

The inner sombre spirit

Has become my current conclusion

Since the chimera of life disclosed itself

As a dagger to my moment’s bliss

I pass along and all I can see

Are the opportunities never taken

Other people rejoicing

While I see no joy in banality

The map without the territory

Has become my approximation

Sentiments abound of lost lore

My life unpacks itself
